Anathema Live in Prague in October
Anathema is not a well-known band for the general public, but these 5 guys are one of the most interesting British bands of the last twenty years, at least in terms of the panorama of alternative rock music.
Althought they started as gloomy doom metallers, already in 1995 their second album The Silent Enigma showed new ways to extreme metal.
From then on, their sound has undergone a never-ending evolution process, which has led them to mix metal to indie rock, and finally to the progressive, particularly that of Radiohead’s OK Computer and the Pink Floyd Wish You were Here or The Division Bell.
Despite a good bunch of fun and constant touring activity, the Cavanaghs (3 of the 5 band members are brothers) don’t come that often to the Czech Republic, although they do visit Italy or Poland every year and for a minimum of four dates.
This year, however, as part of the promotional tour for Weather system (9th studio album in 19 years of activity), the band will step on the stage also in Prague, performing on 7 October at Futurum Music Club in Zborovská street (Prague 5), which is a short walk from the metro station Andel.
The show will start at 7 pm, with the support band to be announced soon.
