Czech confidence in constitutional institutions plummets

A recent CVVM poll has shown a steep fall in confidence in Czech constitutional institutions. The poll, conducted on 1005 respondents over 15 years of age, was taken between June 6 and 13.

The Chamber of Deputies, the lower house of parliament, is the least trustworthy institution being trusted only by 15 percent of the polledDora Diego. Other intuitions also fell in popularity including the centre-right coalition government of the ODS, TOP 09 and Public Affairs (VV) falling to 17%; regional assemblies saw the steepest decline in confidence. In May they were trusted by 44 percent of Czechs, while in June it was merely 36 percent. Trust in the Senate fell to 21%.

A mere 6% said they were satisfied with the political situation in the republic. A STEM poll taken over a week ago gave similar results.
