On Wednesday 23rd May the 5th anual running in heels competition took place in Freedom Square, Brno. Several heats were ran around a 100 m track in the square to the delight of the large crowd which had gathered for the event.
There were one or two fallers during the race but non seemed serious. I for one didn’t see any “broken heels”, however joking aside one girl was taken to hospital for treatment by an ambulance which was stationed at the event.
First prize was a 30000 Crown dream holiday and an 8000 Crown shopping voucher with the runners up receiving 5000 and 2000 Crown vouchers respectively.
In first place with a time of 17:37 seconds and wearing 60 mm heels was a local girl, eighteen year old Aneta Florianová.
In second place wearing 66 mm heels from Velkého Meziříčí was Iva Jelínková aged 30 and third was eighteen year old Tereza Vrbova of Trebic who was running for the first time in the competition in 64 mm heels.
