Czechs are the first European nation to win Davis and Fed Cup in the same year!


Czech Republic won its second Davis Cup in history. The last time as Czechoslovakia in 1980

The last time it was the US team in 1990.

The Czech people celebrate the ultimate season. The Czech tennis is in rapid rise and it was well demonstrated when Petra Kvitová won Wimbledon last year. The women´s double Hlaváčková-Hradecká won silver medal at the London olympics this year and it was the runner-ups at Wimbledon as well.

The Czech Fed Cup team won both 2011 and 2012 finals, first with Russia and then with Serbia.

Czech Republic´s Davis Cup team repeated the finals from 2009 with Spain, but this time the Czech team won.

Both Fed Cup and Davis Cup have taken place in the Czech Republic´s capital, Prague. The last time Czech Republic won Davis Cup was 1980. 32 Years of waiting and patient hard work paid out. One of the best generations of Czech tennis will sure show more in the future.
