Great debut for Jaromir Jagr in Dallas
Jaromir Jagr, 41 years old in February, played his first game for his new NHL club Dallas Stars against Phoenix Coyotes, and the debut couldn’t have been much better. Jagr ended up with two goals and two assists in the Saturday 4-3 victory.
NHL started the season Saturday, after a 113 day long lockout. After a 16 hour long negotiating session January 6 an agreement was reached and the season is now under way.
Jaromir Jagr only needed 18 minutes and 36 seconds of the season to score his first goal for his new club. Almost at the same time in the second period (18:38) Jagr scored his second goal which meant 2-2. He then made two assists in the third and final period and became the “man of the match”.
“It was special,” Jagr said of making his Stars debut to NHL.com.
“Always the first game is special. It was strange. We had only one week in training camp. Practice and games are kind of different. Hopefully it’s going to get better and better.”
